Up Close with Sen. Noy in Pampanga

I was on vacation during the whole month of November organizing class reunions and ‘inumans’ in an effort to campaign for Sen. Noy.

 A day before Sen. Noy barnstormed San Fernando, Pampanga on November 23, I talked to Leo and Enteng Romano of B&W asking Noy’s itinerary in order to organize support for him and tail him wherever he would go, but to no avail.

Unaware of his itinerary I went straight to the capitol at 9am on November 23 with a number of supporters from our town. There I met Sgt. Rocky Reyes, one of Sen. Noy’s security aides and advance party. He liked the Noypi t-shirt I was wearing. He confirmed the arrival of Sen. Noy to me. I was excited. By 11pm supporters started to come in droves. I met with Gov. Ed Panlilio before noon and we exchanged pleasantries. He liked also the Noypi shirt and I promised to give him one. While Sen. Noy and party were about to arrive at the capitol, a small group of protesters started to hold a rally in front of the capitol bearing pro-Gibo placards (rumors had it the rally was allegedly organized by Mikey Arroyo).

Noy, Mar, Kiko, Neric Acosta, Hontiveros and Sonia Roco arrived. A huge crowd warmly greeted them. Noy was like a pop star. He was constantly hugged and kissed by the ladies. He was so gracious and accommodating. Kiko was a snub. Mar was equally accommodating. I had a brief personal encounter with Noy in the office of the governor. I did introduce myself as one of the coordinators of Noypi Ako!

During his speech in the Bren Guiao Convention later in the afternoon to lead the oath-taking of 12 LP mayoral candidates, he recognized the support of the Noypi Ako!. He was very grateful to our volunteerism.

 Now that I’m back from vacation, I will be active again in the discussions here!
