The Kick-Ass Test
Posted by benignO
In my recent article on GetRealPhilippines.net, “The promising decline of Philippine demagoguery“, I celebrate evidence I see of small steps being taken down a different path in the way we as a people regard the coming presidential elections. That is, at least, from the vantage point I have over the small section of the Philippine blogosphere I participate in and that part of mainstream media that I regularly monitor. We are seeing some promising signs that there is more attention being put to what the candidates — and the political parties they are affiliated with — stand for.
Over at The Noted One’s seminal blog post “Good Frodo and Evil Gollum“, a commentor who goes by the handle “Engr. Jojo” cited the following reasons for supporting popular presidential candidate Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III:
2. He is Diligent and Hardworking ENOUGH
3. He is VERY Sincere, Honest, Humble, and God-fearing
4. He is VERY Clean and Untainted with Corruption
5. He Advocated Accountability, Transparency & Good Governance
6. He Knows How to Listen & Advocate of Participatory Democracy
7. He has a VERY good Breeding
8. He has No Political Debt
9. He has No First Lady to Appeased with
10. He is A WINNER
"I am determined to continue the fight started by my father and my mother to see
that democracy takes root and is strengthened in our country. This cannot happen
in a government that serves the interest of the powerful few. We must strengthen
the institutions of government so that they truly serve the interests of our people."

@Dennis, I just copy and pasted it on our site. May points kasi ang writer na di ko nakikita saka di naman talaga ito attack kay Noynoy, its informative and good for voter’s education.

benign0 is a female(?) writer for a site called Filipino Voices. Anti-Noynoy talaga yan siya. I read one time in Jim Paredes’ twitter account that she has been banned/kicked from several fora. Im not quite sure how true this is but anyway, you can visit their site at the ff. link:

Pero kung ayaw niyong uminit ang dugo niyo, do not bother… =)

Isang suggestion lang din. If we can help it, let us not debate anymore with these Noynoy haters. Wala ring patutunguhan eh. Mahirap talagang makipag-diskusyon sa mga taong bulag at bingi sa katotohanan. We will only end up feeling down and frustrated. The problem is, these people don’t even have the balls to admit who their candidate is. Tayo naman open ang support for Noynoy which is why it is so easy for them to criticize and attack us.
Wala pa nga yung exchanges sa blog ni Manolo Quezon. Punta kayo sa Youtube, grabe, ang sasahol ng mga comments parang mga walang pinag-aralan. Our country is so fragmented na mahirap pagsama-samahin para sa isang mabuting hangarin. Kaya rin siguro tayo hindi nagpo-progress as a nation.
I suggest we focus on how we can move forward and establish a positive campaign for Sens. Noynoy and Mar. Inform our family and friends about the goals and objectives of this campaign. If we encounter a hater, move on to the next. Pasensya na, i have been involved in so many debates online or personal since Noynoy made public his intention to run. Nakaka-pagod makipag-debate sa kanila. Suggestion lang naman po. At the end of the day, you are free to do whatever you want. Just choose your battles well.
Good luck to all!

right on brother! too many noynoy haters out there. and they don’t care how they express themselves, to the point of giving bellow-the-belt comments.
but that’s politics, we just have to deal with it and root for our own candidates.
