Rivals taunt Aquino: What have you done in the past?

MANILA, Philippines–The gloves are off.
The presidential race is gathering steam, with Nacionalista Party standard-bearer Manuel Villar demanding to know from Liberal Party standard-bearer Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III if the latter had anything to show that he could deliver on promised reforms.
Incidentally, it was the first time Villar, a self-made billionaire with humble beginnings, showed up at a forum of presidential candidates.
The latest Social Weather Stations survey privately commissioned by a Villar ally and conducted on Dec. 27-28, 2009, showed that Aquino’s lead over Villar had been narrowed to 11 percent.
Track record
When Aquino’s turn to respond to certain issues came up, he managed to counterattack.
“Let’s all see our track records if what we’re saying jibes with what we do,” he said, adding that this was his answer to the question of being ampaw (hollow).
He also said it was “easy” to mouth “motherhood statements” and promise “beautiful things” but doubtful that these could be fulfilled by his rivals if they were elected president.
Aquino cited the recently passed P1.4-trillion national budget.
He said that during the deliberations, his “stomach ached and blood pressure shot up because of the attitude” of department secretaries who insisted on funding for their pet programs despite the questions raised by senators.
“I was the only one who stood up to [tell them], ‘You’re not doing the right thing,’” Aquino said.
"I am determined to continue the fight started by my father and my mother to see
that democracy takes root and is strengthened in our country. This cannot happen
in a government that serves the interest of the powerful few. We must strengthen
the institutions of government so that they truly serve the interests of our people."

I think Sen Aquino was in a disadvantage position to always answer questions instantly.Unlike the others(all govt.ally)who had plenty of time to analyze the topic or question before responding,sana like Failon pinaikot nla ung unang sasagot.Anyway i salute Sen Noy for doing well in that forum,it reinforce my belief that his honesty and integrity combined with strong political will,will ultimately stop corruption and bring our country back to its feet.The three govt. ally also done well maybe but the problem is,kay tagal nilang nanungkulan sa gobyerno ni Arroyo bakit di nila nagawa or naimungkahi man lng ung mga sinssabi nila? kase abala cla sa pagsipsip at papogi kay gma para sa kanilang pansariling interes,its simple as that.

actions speak louder than words. pabayaan na lang natin mag ingay mga ibang presidentiables, kasi yan lang meron sila. kaunting achievements. wala silang malinis track record, kung corruption ang topic malamang si villar mag iinvisible mode.

Whatever bullshit spewing from the mouth of Villar and Gordon, the point is, there is no stopping Noynoy to become president. The hell with their supposed competence – what is competence without integrity? what is managerial skills if you would just compromise your values at every move? Noynoy pa rin!

Nagmamalaki po si Villar at si Gordon sa mga nagawa nila. Mayroon nga silang nagawa para sa kanilang sariling interes. Ngunit suriin natin kung ano nga ba ang kanilang ginawa noong panahon na nilampaso ni Gloria at ni Garci ang karapatan ng mamayang Pilipino. Ano nga ba ang ginawa nila noong na-eskandalo ang sambayanang Pilipino sa ZTE at marami pang iba? Saan nga ba sila? Saan ang kanilang paninindigan? Kaninong interes ang kanilang pinoprotektahan. Matakot po tayo sambayanang Pilipino lalo na kay Villar. Milyon milyon at mukhang aabut pa ng bilyon ang gagastusin niya sa eleksyon. Matakot po tayo at siguradong hindi TY ang ginastos ni Villar. Babawiin po ito sa anumang paraan sa kaban ng bayan. Patuloy po tayong manindigan at ipaglaban si Noynoy Aquino. May pag-asa po tayo laban sa pangungurakot. When Gibo et al initiated the move to impeach the former Chief Justice Davide Jr. Who ran to his rescue? Congressman Abad and Noynoy. Were were Villar, or Gordon. It was a clear work of evil.

I believed this election was NOYNOY vs the forces of evil(VILLAR,GORDON, TEODORO & ERAP) talagang sinadya nila na magkandidato para di manalo si Noynoy. This is design of GMA para sa ganoon hindi mananalo si Noynoy. Sino bang kandidato na hindi tumitiligsa kay GMA di ba si Gordon ang nagpa walang sala sa ZTE, Si Gibo ay puppet ni GMA at lalo na si Villar kaya nga yun gobyerno ay pikit mata na pina fund lahat ng kalsada patungo sa mga subdivison ni Villar.

How dare them say that Noynoy has no accomplishments….
1.) Noynoy was with Cory, lending her security and logistic help, during our struggle against the dictatorship.
Villar, Erap, Gordon and Gibo did nothing and instead supported the evils and perils of martial law.
2.) Noynoy was consistent in opposing all sorts of corruption in the GMA administration.
Si Gibo, Gordon at Villar —-kahit isang corruption walang tinutulan. Si Erap, was never specific.
3.) Si Noynoy ay wang bahit dungis. Kahit isang kaso, WALA.
Sina Erap, Villar at Gordon—katakot-takot ang kaso.
4.) Si Noynoy, united a great fraction of our population.
Sila ? Pinagwatak-watak lang nila….
Kung infras ang hahanapin, siyempre di gaano ang kay Noynoy kasi opposition siya at hindi binigay ang kanyang pork barrel woth 600 Million for the past so many years.
Kung batas ang pag-uusapan, he sumbitted bills that are pro-labor and anti-corruption, but these bills were shot down by vested interests and admin.
Can Noynoy be faulted for that.? No. He has done his part but admin din not.

When the official campaign period starts, let us show Villar, Gordon et al. the true spirit of the Noynoy campaign. Volunteerism, walang bayad para sa kapakanan ng sambayanang Pilipino. Walang kapalit. Tapat sa bayan. Let us mobilize whatever resources we have. Innovate if we can and campaign in a non-traditional manner. We can start by sending e-mails to all our friends, relatives, neighbors and classmates to encourage them to vote for Noynoy-Mar. The battle is heating up. Maraming pera at bala ang mga kalaban. But in the end, God will be on the good side. Evil will not prevail.

I suggest na huwag na nating patulan ito. Let us ignore them. Marami pang darating na ganito at mas malala pa lalo na pag-desperado ang mga kalaban. Based on most surveys, the solid base of 45% for Noynoy is holding kahit na anong black propaganda ang ibato nila. Kailangan na lang natin paabutin ang base ni Noynoy to more than 50%. Konti na lang iyan. Tingnan po ninyo pag umabot sa 50% ay pati kaluluwa nila ay ibebenta nila kay satanas. The most important thing is we should maintain our focus. Kahit pa anong sabihin nila, let us keep this campaign at high level.

I agree with you John Austria. For sure marami pang mga horrible stories ang lalabas about Noy. Kaya wag na lang natin patulan. All we need to do is to give our 110% support to Noy. And let us try to maintain his lead, at kung puede mas mataas pa para kahit anong gawin nila, hindi na nila mahahabol pa. I’m doing my part din in campaigning for Noy,kahit sa mga kaibigan and relatives lang through emailing.
