Press Statement from the Presidential Campaign of Senator Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III

This is to refute the malicious allegations raised in an article entitled “Noynoy’s Dark Secret” written by Alfred Dalizon and published in the October 26, 2009 edition of the People’s Journal.

This is an old story and it is unfortunate that Mr. Dalizon’s article got the facts completely wrong. A certain “Charlotte Marie Datiles” indeed died during the August 28, 1987 coup d’etat. She was not the girlfriend of Senator Benigno “Noynoy” S. Aquino III nor was she in the same car as the senator.

According to Ramon Tulfo in his September 9, 1987 column “On Target” that appeared in the Philippine Daily Inquirer, she was the 19-year-old girlfriend of a certain Lt. Teodoro Sanchez, an undercover operative of the Intelligence Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

Tulfo wrote: “Sanchez and Datiles and another ISAFP agent were passing by Malacañang aboard a car during the attack on the palace. They came from a mission following up a lead in the slaying of Local Government Secretary Jaime Ferrer. Sanchez’s car was sandwiched between the Palace guards and the rebels firing at each other.”

A copy of the said article is attached. While we all expect evil propaganda of this nature to continue as the election nears, we have no doubt that truth will prevail in the end. We must not be distracted in the campaign to fight for what is right. The Filipino people deserve nothing less. Our call remains: “Tanggaling ang tiwali, itama ang mali!”

Sincerely,
Florencio “Butch” Abad
Campaign Manager

  • For the curious, you can view “Noynoy’s Dark Secret” at http://ow.ly/wuO3

  • i’m sure, more fabricated stories, half-truths, and outright lies will come in noynoy’s way. umpisa pa lang yan. the best defense is, of course, always the “truth”. no matter how they spin and twist those stories, the truth will always come out.

  • my bp went up while reading the article. The writer Alfred P. Dalizon if ever he exist is a liar and for sure paid for my Noynoy’s rivals. But I believe the truth will come out. So no matter what black propaganda they throw on Noynoy, it will not affect his chances of winning. In fact it will make his supporter fight more for Noynoy.

  • smut campaign against noynoy… sad.

  • ala na kasing maibato kaya ganun!

  • sino pa ba ang gumagawa ng ganyang mga paninira kay noynoy kungdi mga bayarang journalist(kuno).show me the MONEY!!!!, manny villar…….

  • People’s Journal is owned by the Romualdezes. This is a premise from which a conclusion could be reached.

  • Ferdie Ramos, yung taga people’s journal na laging nakabuntot kay erap is surely behind this. Is Augusto Villanueva still the publisher of People’s Journal? He’s a friend and we call him Tito Ogot although I am much closer to his wife, Tita Arlene. Malaki utang na loob ko sa kanya because they were the ones who sent my sister to school till she finished college sa TUP magna cum laude. He is a known Marcos Loyalist pero OK lang kami in spite of our difference in poltical beliefs. His house is not far from our house and I am warning him, if he lets such black propaganda against Noynoy again, I will bring 100 men and women with placards in front of his house, sige sya. Totoo yun. but in fairness, mabait naman si Tito Ogot and I feel this is just the handiwork of someone we don’t know yet. Tsaka you can not compare what happened, assuming for the sake of argumentit is true, to what happened to Sen. Kennedy. Kasi, si Kennedy married whereas si Noynoy binata. No comparison. Tsaka I don’t believe the Aquinos will never gag the press from reporting an incident even if its deleterious to their reputation. Di nga ba pati yung pagbubuntis ni Kris ay naireport ng lahat ng press? Wala sa character ng mga Aquino ang magtago. Kaya mali yung pinagsusulat ng kung sino mang bayarang manunulat na yun.

  • Si Cory pa, she will never ever gag the press from reporting the truth. Di ba sumobra pa nga ang press noon. Nagtago raw siya sa ilalim ng kama when the coup happened yun pala wala pang ilalim yung kama niya. So there is absolutely no reason for us to believe that they will hide such incident from the press.

  • i was in office and was tuning in to DZRH and heard the news from Mr. Deo Macalma he was reading the item in the said paper… but we were all laughing because we knew it was a blatant lie! we have no doubts of the integrity of Sen. Noynoy… and to the writer who twisted the fact.. sorry na lang to u… we even are more sympathetic to our dearest Sen. Noynoy Aquino….

  • sure na si noynoy sa 2010 kahit ano pa gawin nila!!!!!!!
dito sa kuwait solid kaming noy noy for president- cocoy garcia

  • kahit pa girlfriend ni noy ung 19-year old girl, ano kasalan dun ni NOY sa incident? kung hindi binaggit ang pagkamatay, ano masama dun? ang masama, nagpabayad ung nagpalabas nito.

  • you are right in all counts.Plus the case of late Sen.Kennedy is not comparable. A married man reportedly driving the car with a woman when the accident happened. He pleaded guilty of leaving the scene. He has all the reasons not to gag about the accident because his morality can be questioned. Sen Aquino went to Malacanang to save his mother from the rebels. If ever he was with a girlfriend and died with his body guards its a plus factor for him to get the people’s sympathy. Cory would not hide it if she did not hide Kris’s bad moments. Who ever thought of using that black propaganda is dumb.

  • i haven’t read the said article, but i do remember reading a column of mon tulfo in the inquirer referring to the same incident (this column was written after cory died) and he wrote that he found out later that the story was not true. here is the link http://services.inquirer.net/print/print.php?article_id=20090805-218915

  • the shallowness of this propaganda only goes to show how quaking in fear the other parties are over the ever-growing groundswell of filipino clamor for noynoy to become our true president…too bad for them, no matter how they twist and turn, there is no stopping pinoys from voting for genuine hope, justice and governance in the person of noynoy aquino.

  • the accusations of the rival parties is an obvious way of putting the senator down. syimpre wala silang makitang malaking issue na pwedeng ika sira ng magandang imahen niya.but the more they do this the more na gaganda ang imahen niya… kaya senator NOY, GO, GO, GO….WISHING U D BEST! idaan natin sa dasal.

  • naku, this is plain smear campaign. No amount of paninira will dissuade people from supporting Noynoy. Tama kayo, truth comes out in the end and will prevail. Nakakataba ng puso because yesterday I was in comelec to register and there was a looong line outside, and true enough, people both young and old troop to register for Noynoy. I am even more inspired to support Noynoy’s campaign in whatever way I can.

  • Charlotte was not a gf of Noynoy. I interviewed some years ago in Manila Jinky Datiles, the one who has also extra-sensory perception.

  • The enemies will try everything. But they’ll always fall flat on their faces. Because they continue to think Sen. Noy is their enemy. They’re wrong. It’s the Filipino people they are up against. We only have Gloria to thank for bringing back people power. As Mr. Conrado de Quiros has repeatedly said, this is EDSA III disguised as people power and by trampling on truth, honesty and decency, Gloria has brought it to herself.

  • FYI, the article was sent to me by someone from the office of another presidential aspirant.

  • The name of Alfred P. Dalizon is very, very familiar to us.

This is the same trick he played when he wrote against Bro. Eliseo Soriano.

It’s hack time, you know. And money smells.

  • Well, what Alfred P. Dalizon wrote about Mr. Noynoy Aquino is just another proof that he is indeed a notorious fabricator of malicious write-ups, just what he did to Bro. Eliseo Soriano. What is something fishy is that, he wrote very timely; while election nears, dirty money speaks.
