Noynoy’s Platform
A National Leadership in Need of Transformational Change
- Its legitimacy is under question;
- It persecutes those who expose the truth about its illegitimacy and corruption;
- It stays in power by corrupting individuals and institutions;
- It confuses the people with half-truths and outright lies;
- It rewards, rather than punishes, wrongdoing;
- It offers no lasting solutions for the many problems of the country;
- It weakens the democratic institutions that hold our leaders accountable.
- It hinders our local governments from delivering basic services;
- It has no vision of governance beyond political survival and self- enrichment.
A People Crying out for Change
- Corruption robs our children of their protection, nutrition and education.
- Corruption destroys our families and communities.
- Corruption steals from our farmers and workers.
- Corruption deters businessmen from investing in our economy.
- This has eroded our spirit as individuals, as communities, as a people.
- We have lost trust in the democratic institutions we so courageously re-established after the dictatorship.
- Our proven capacity for collective outrage and righteous resistance has been weakened.
- We have ceased to depend on the patriotism and civic engagement that used to animate many of our efforts.
- We have become divided and alienated, focusing only on ourselves and on our individual pursuits.
- Our moral faculties as a people have been paralyzed.
- We have retreated into a dark world of self-absorption and cynicism. Our collective despair has reached its lowest point.
Then finally, the gift of Light
Cory Aquino passed on to the next life. From our sadness, we awakened to a shaft of light cutting through the darkness. She left the
Filipinos a legacy of selfless love for country and people. Filipinos’ connection with each other was rekindled.
In death, she enabled us to hope again for decent government. The millions who connected with Cory at her funeral represented something more than euphoria, sentiment or transient emotions. They represented the reverent memory of a good leader in the past and the firm hope of having a similarly good leader in the future.
A People’s Campaign of Renewed Hope…
- Anchored on Ninoy’s and Cory’s legacy of change through the ways of democracy
- Embraces the qualities of integrity, humility and trust-worthiness in public leadership
- Recognizes the absence of these qualities in government as a major cause of widespread poverty, misery and despair.
The Vision for the Philippines:
A country with…
- A re-awakened sense of right and wrong, through the living examples of our highest leaders;
- An organized and widely-shared rapid expansion of our economy through a government dedicated to honing and mobilizing our people’s skills and energies as well as the responsible harnessing of our natural resources;
- A collective belief that doing the right thing does not only make sense morally, but translates into economic value as well;
- Public institutions rebuilt on the strong solidarity of our society and its communities.
Our Mission:
We will start to make these changes first in ourselves—by doing the right things, by giving value to excellence and integrity and rejecting mediocrity and dishonesty, and by giving priority to others over ourselves.
We will make these changes across many aspects of our national life.
A Commitment to Transformational Leadership:
- 1. From a President who tolerates corruption to a President who is the nation’s first and most determined fighter of corruption.
- 2. From a government that merely conjures economic growth statistics that our people know to be unreal to a government that prioritizes jobs that empower the people and provide them with opportunities to rise above poverty.
- 3. From relegating education to just one of many concerns to making education the central strategy for investing in our people, reducing poverty and building national competitiveness.
- 4. From treating health as just another area for political patronage to recognizing the advancement and protection of public health, which includes responsible parenthood, as key measures of good governance.
- 5. From justice that money and connections can buy to a truly impartial system of institutions that deliver equal justice to rich or poor.
Economy
- 6. From government policies influenced by well-connected private interests to a leadership that executes all the laws of the land with impartiality and decisiveness.
- 7. From treating the rural economy as just a source of problems, to recognizing farms and rural enterprises as vital to achieving food security and more equitable economic growth, worthy of re-investment for sustained productivity.
- 8. From government anti-poverty programs that instill a dole-out mentality to well-considered programs that build capacity and create opportunity among the poor and the marginalized in the country.
- 9. From a government that dampens private initiative and enterprise to a government that creates conditions conducive to the growth and competitiveness of private businesses, big, medium and small.
- 10. From a government that treats its people as an export commodity and a means to earn foreign exchange, disregarding the social cost to Filipino families to a government that creates jobs at home, so that working abroad will be a choice rather than a necessity; and when its citizens do choose to become OFWs, their welfare and protection will still be the government’s priority.
Government Service
- 11. From Presidential appointees chosen mainly out of political accommodation to discerning selection based on integrity, competence and performance in serving the public good.
- 12. From demoralized but dedicated civil servants, military and police personnel destined for failure and frustration due to inadequate operational support to professional, motivated and energized bureaucracies with adequate means to perform their public service missions.
Gender Equality
- 13. From a lack of concern for gender disparities and shortfalls, to the promotion of equal gender opportunity in all spheres of public policies and programs.
Peace & Order
- 14. From a disjointed, short-sighted Mindanao policy that merely reacts to events and incidents to one that seeks a broadly supported just peace and will redress decades of neglect of the Moro and other peoples of Mindanao.
Environment
- 15. From allowing environmental blight to spoil our cities, where both the rich and the poor bear with congestion and urban decay to planning alternative, inclusive urban developments where people of varying income levels are integrated in productive, healthy and safe communities.
- 16. From a government obsessed with exploiting the country for immediate gains to the detriment of its environment to a government that will encourage sustainable use of resources to benefit the present and future generations.
This platform is a commitment to change that Filipinos can depend on. With trust in their leaders, everyone can work and build a greater future together.
"I am determined to continue the fight started by my father and my mother to see
that democracy takes root and is strengthened in our country. This cannot happen
in a government that serves the interest of the powerful few. We must strengthen
the institutions of government so that they truly serve the interests of our people."

a letter to Senator Noynoy Aquino:
Mr. Aquino, I am thankful for what your parents/family have done for the country. Our family was one of the many victims of martial law; in fact my grandparents died fighting for freedom.
I trust your sincerity. I voted for you as a senator when last run for the seat. But I do appeal that you write your own legacy instead of using your parents’. I know you have every right to do so but being the son of the most high profile people can sometimes be a weakness too.
As a citizen, I appeal that you go out the limelight of the popularity of Noynoy-Mar tandem – instead, please specify your VISION and MISSION to our beloved Pilipinas.
Corruption is only one thing and also our justice system. What is your vision for education? employment? business investments? globalisation? long-term vision for economy? strengthening our armed forces without relying on U.S. government? You have to give light on this.
Mr. Aquino, my vote goes for you but I hope you respond to this challenge.
May God bless you in your leadership.

I am disappointed to know that Noynoy decided to run without even having a clear and definite platform. I guess that’s how stupid he thinks of the Filipino voters.

I wrote this letter in the wake of Ondoy’s aftermath but never had the chance to send it. I couldn’t help but think that what happened in Ondoy was not mere coincidence right after the death of your mother, our beloved Tita Cory. It just had to happen a month before Ondoy’s destruction. During your mother’s funeral,
I was among those who were glued to the internet, witnessed to several Facebookers comments
from all over the world, how the Filipino spirit is really a spirit of service, embodied
by your mother, our dear former President Cory Aquino.
Now, Ondoy gave the chance for most Filipinos to concretize this by allowing a lot of us to
forget our little discomforts to think of our fellow Filipinos in agony. How fitting also, that the movie
Up should be shown 2 weeks before the typhoon, as if saying, there really comes a point in
time, you have to let go of all material attachments because the human spirit isn’t bound for
that. The human spirit is greater than that, it is meant for service, for meaningful relationships
Responsible Parenthood
I am all aware, dear Senator, of your position regarding the RH Bill. When you said,
that it will be second to your priorities should you be given the chance to serve, I was
saddened and alarmed. I’m a lay person in the middle of the world, employed in a software company yet leading a volunteer group that aims to fight illiteracy.
I’m not stating my position without any backup of reasons and/or convictions. The Church
does support Responsible Parenthood but that which stems from responsible acts. However,
responsibility stems from ownership of actions. A man of integrity, when acting on something,
accepts and owns the consequence of it. If he doesn’t and resorts to means that will
prevent him to fully own the consequence, he’s selfish and coward. Such are those people who
promote contraception. They do accept the pleasure for pleasure’s sake, yet set aside the
consequence. The Natural Family Planning on the other hand, strenghtens the moral of the people,
makes sacrifice (and in this case the sexual pleasure), the integral component of the family,
transcends to society and indeed to the nation. You may say that it’s very hard to teach
the poor family these things? Well, you may be surprised, dear Senator, about the simplicity of
these people. In my experience, it is the working class who do not accept these teachings.
Ironically, they who can support a larger family, do not do so because of a lifestyle that
they had embraced.
Yet, it is clear that the RH Bill is intended for poor people who seemed to be, in the
language of the “learned”, breeding like parasites. Yet we commonly see this scenario and most
aggravated in the city. We have lured the people into thinking grand about the city, that
there’s promise there, that the ‘famous celebrities’ are there, their migration
be the envy of those who are left behind.
These mindset is what cause them to flock in the city passing on to the next generation their sorry plot.
And yet even if you curb their numbers,how sure are you that they won’t be less miserable then?
Clearly, this isn’t going to the root of the problem. The problem is the lack of opportunity in their province.
How developed are they to ensure there’s enough job for everyone. There were little developments in the province,
Mr Senator. People are professional tambays. They aren’t creative. They aren’t taught
to be creative, in a country so rich and beautiful. Can’t they be trained to maintain historical sites?
Or to help promote culture? Or to preserve nature amidst tourism? Because they all can’t be selling beads
and souvenir items. We aren’t creative Mr Senator.

We have been victimize by the corrupts for so many,many years now . We as filipino must shout in one voice , we deserve not to be ruled by crooks,we deserve to have a better nation and we deserve a country much better than what we have today.

i was shock and disappointed na dahil nangunguna sa list si acosta eh pinapaalis nyo sa list ng candidate. im not pro acosta but the behaviour you should is very immature. im sorry to say this but i would like you to realize what you did. sa dami ng problema sa pilipinas yun ang pagtutuunan nyo ng pansin. what’s the big deal if he is a nuisanse candidate? ano ba ang mahalaga sa inyo ang tumulong sa kapwa o sipain ang sagabal sa inyo at ayaw nyo.
here are some comments that i get on some forum comments about your issue.
Lingkod-bayan o lingkod-sarili? Tao o pera?

Haysssss, di nga magnanakaw (hopefully) bopol naman same-same pa rin. Hirap pa rin ang daranasin natin. Hayssssssss
always take not of this words from me ang lider na hindi alam makinig sa mga tao ay walang karapatang maging lider.

I agree with you Net. Acosta is being used to confuse the voters. Where is he, by the way?… He’s not even visible just like the other Presidentiables… So obviously, it is really a planned agenda from the opponents to cause confusion…

i was not amaze about the platform post. it is not specific and it is not direct. it is easy to compose a sentence or paragraph like that. even a high-school student can compose a sentence like that. what i want is specific on how he will do that and what is the plan. and i’m expecting more plans.
here is a comment from Perry Chloride on 2010presidentiable forum
Hindi naman platform niyan eh. Campaign promise yan eh.
Dennis Villarta
30 Jan, 2010
@pres, Pag nagsasalita ka about something you should make sure if it is correct. Ang platform ay isang objectives or isang public declaration of principle and intentions ng isang partido political or nang isang kandidato . Please tell me who among the candidates that makes a detailed program on his platform.
Regina

@Pres watch out for Feb 8, and you won’t say that his platform is not specific and direct. Huwag kang magsasalita ng tapos.
Engr. Jojo
30 Jan, 2010
@Pres, a platform is a statement of the aims and policies of the program of a person or party seeking electoral support. It is something that can be seem in an elevated point. It is not a detailed plan of a program of government or something.

anyway guys im just telling that just to motivate Sen. Do your best Sen. noynoy. sana ipriority mo ang mga mas nangangailan. provide jobs using government money, not giving to those corrupt government official. second the security of the masses, for example nagtataasan ang mga bilihin at hindi kayang kontrolin ng DTI which means inutil sila. DTI should protect the masses. i know how greedy some business owners here in philippines. Do your best and if you need me for some suggestion just email me.
