Dear Mr. President..

I’m one of the thousands of filipinos working here in Iraq and on behalf of all the filipinos here working and breaking our backs. we are knocking at your kind heart to lift the ban for filipinos here. We just received a memorandum last July 20, 2010 which states that we are all required to leave iraq(where we worked to support our family) in 20 days time. As of yesterday we are given a period of 60-90 days to hopefully be able to resolve this ban in our country. Sir, just to give you an eyeview of our status here..we are working inside a secure american base with free food, accomodation and every life support we need, not to mention the discipline that has been thought to each and every one of us while working here in Iraq. We are not allowed to drink here and we are required to be inside the camp not later than 10pm.Also commercial flights are landing here regularly like the etihad, saudia arlines, gryphon, and turkish airlines. Just to justify Mr President that situation here in Iraq are a lot different compared in the past years during the height of bombings and fightings.

We hope and pray Mr President that the ban be lifted here in iraq so that we can stay and work to be able to support and give our children a good future. We dont want to add up into the thousands of other filipinos there in our country who is starving and jobless.Situation is really different here compare before the height of war. Aren’t you proud Mr President that now Iraq is on the process of regrouping and reconstruction that they still want to keep and employ filipinos? This primarily because we are good and hard workers. The war is over now Mr President. This is the main reason why we are really down on our knees begging you to lift the ban.
Thank you very much. On behalf of the filipinos here we hope that this letter would reach the table of the president and that a positive decision be made.

Respectfully,

Raymond of Iraq

we all love cory and ninoy, but don't we love the country more? i would personally go for "he has a good character" if that character is backed up by STRONG PERSONALITY. that even if he doesn't become a good administrator, HE WOULD AT LEAST BE A STRONG LEADER (TO LEAD IS NOT TO MANAGE). but if you lack the force of personality to LEAD THE NATION, how can you CREATE A CHANGE IN MEN & INCULCATE your values?

- impotent legislator: 12 years, 8 bills files, no laws passed
- average academic record
- average private service record: sales at nike? a field position at hacienda luisita (his own relatives dont even trust him enough to give him an executive position?)
- can't even help the luisita farmers
- can't account for pork barrel

BUT....

he's the son of ninoy and cory. SURELY he's incorruptible and the righteousness flowing in his veins will lead us to the promise land.

if this is the type of common sense running through the heads of the electorate then we deserve this hellhole we call a country.

I agree with Regina. Besides, if he use other people as example why not our very own mother if she is really a good model. Even the whole world look at tita Cory as an Icon and Model for Democracy and good governance ang anak pa kaya? T. Estrella, read Time magazine, go to encyclopedia, etc, Cory's name is there as good Model.
