‘Yellow Party’ set on Noynoy’s b-day

Negrense Friends of Noy and Mar will mark the birthday of Liberal Party standard bearer Noynoy Aquino on Monday by tying yellow ribbons around Bacolod City.

“Together, let us paint history yellow: On Feb 8, 2010, the birthday of Noynoy Aquino, and a day before the official campaign period for the 2010 elections start, we begin to take history in our hands and tie it with the yellow ribbon of courage and the courage  of our heroes,” a message sent out by the group  said yesterday.

At 5 p.m. on Monday a “yellow party” will be held at the The Heroes HQ at the Lopue’s Annex Building in Mandalagan, Bacolod City, for a yellow party to celebrate Noynoy’s birthday where a Yellow Bazaar, a Yellow Food Fair, and a Yellow Bar will be held, the organizers said.

“Wear your courage: wear or hold or use anything yellow. Let’s party all night. History awaits us the day after,” the invitation said.*

  • Happy birthday to you Senator NoyNoy! God blessed!

  • From Official Facebook: Mag VOLUNTEER PARA SA PAGBABAGO. Kita-kits tayo sa FRI (FEB 5) @ PARC HOUSE @ 7pm. Its the buildng across the PEOPLE POWER MONUMENT just along EDSA. Bring your family and friends and show Sen Aquino hindi siya nag-iisa. Enjoy the food, show and band. See you!

  • Form over Subtance please. We all like these yellow celebrations and festivities….but the crux of this campaign is to address the problems and ills of Philippine society… We should be talking and meeting and conversing on how we could address this as a community under the Aquino campaign….

  • Engr. Jojo, I like it when you say “Tutulungan namin siya”…it evokes volunteerism which is a key ingredient in successful democracies. But the question is how and what about? Those are the specifics that are missing in this campaign.

  • @Jet Pampolina Hi. He has to be more radical. And he must know that RIGHT NOW. Given ang mga tao na nakapaligid sa kanya ngayon, apparently, hindi nakakarating ang mensahe ni Noynoy sa mga Class E and D. Kaya bilang suporter, it’s not only our duty to actively campaign for him, but to add a little pressure sa kanya and to criticize him positively kung merong mali o kulang sa kanyang plataporma. Diyan pumapasok ang people power. PEOPLE POWER. KAPANGYARIHANG BAYAN. Katulad na lang na kailangan pa ng mas kaunting depth sa platform ni Noynoy on the agrarian reform and agriculture. Kung nalalaman natin na may pagkukulang, let’s discuss it among ourselves and make a statement to Senator Noy nudging him in the right direction. We can be active in the sense na we are trying to be heard and na-eemphasize ang ating hinaing. There’s still 3 months left. Marami pa tayong magagawa. I encourage all of you to internalize on what your sector really needs and forward it to the camp of Senator Noy, para mapakinggan naman niya ang mga hinaing natin.

  • @Regina you are so right. The Aquino campaign should harness the real engine of this campaign which is the poor and the working class, pero hindi mo sila maipapatakbo kung empty ang kampanya… an anti-corruption campaign is a good start but it needs more follow-through in specifics and substance….. His calling (after seeing the Cory burial march) is one of real, radical and substantive change and he is far from making it happen.

  • @Jet Exactly. The latest survey is a slap to us in the campaign that we need to be more radical. The voters would rather choose Villar who is undoubtedly corrupt but delivered something, than Noynoy who is clean but delivered nothing.
